Procedures for Inclement Weather:

During bad weather, we make every attempt to assess the road conditions and notify staff and students as early as possible. Normal procedure in the district is not to close schools early once students are in attendance. This is for the safety and well-being of all students, since many students may not have someone at home if they are released early. Weather and road conditions can vary greatly from area to area. As a result, you, as parents, are the final decision makers regarding your son/daughter's attendance. Please notify the school office if your son/daughter will not be in school or should be dismissed early due to weather conditions.

Weather related school closing decisions are made by school officials and reported to the radio and television media by 6:00 AM each morning. Stay tuned as the media updates the list. The district uses several communication avenues to notify parents, students, and staff about school closings or delays.

• The district will post updates and information on the website at www.eisd.org.

Social Media:

•  The district will post updates on Facebook and Twitter.

Call-Out System:

• The Blackboard automated phone calling system will be utilized in the event of a delay or school closure. Note: The district will not call between 9:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
